Jeff Bloom

JEFFREY C. BLOOM was born in Mineola, New York in 1947. He is a law partner in the firm Glavis & Bloom, PLC where he practices in the areas of business, real estate and homeowners association law and civil litigation. The firm was founded in 1992 as Jeffrey C. Bloom, APC.

He received his B.A. from George Washington University in 1968. He received his Juris Doctor from St. John's University Law School in 1976 and was the recipient of a New York State War Veteran's Scholarship.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Bloom worked for the Library of Congress, Defense Research Division and served in the U.S. Army Security Agency, where he transcribed and analyzed Russian language communications. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Berlin Army of Occupation Medal and Good Conduct Medal and received an Honorable Discharge in 1972.

In September 1976, he began his private law practice with Zalman & Schnurman in New York City, where he engaged in insurance litigation. In October 1978, he became associated with Breger & Gorin where he engaged in commercial and residential real estate transactions and related litigation matters. In September 1980, he became associated with the firm of Cook & Shepard, P.C. and engaged in real estate and commercial law practice. In 1981, he became associated with the firm Danziger, Bangser, Klipstein, Goldsmith & Greenwald and continued his practice of commercial and residential real estate law. In May 1984, he became associated with the firm of Gordon, Hurwitz, Butowsky, Weitzen, Shalov & Wein, and represented private and institutional real estate developers and syndicators in the acquisition and development of residential, commercial, hotel and office building ventures on a national basis.

In December 1985, Mr. Bloom joined the firm Shenas, Shaw & Spievak, where he continued to practice in the fields of business and real property law. As a shareholder of Shenas, Shaw & Spievak, he also represented homeowners associations in corporate and litigation matters and provided real estate law expertise on various bankruptcy, environmental law and Resolution Trust Corporation matters.

Mr. Bloom is admitted to the State Bars of California (1985), Massachusetts (1981), New York (1977) and the United States Tax Court (1977). He is admitted to practice before the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California. He is a member of the California State Bar Association (Real Property Section) and the San Diego County Bar Association (Real Property and Bankruptcy Sections) and served as Co-Chair for the San Diego County Bar Association, Real Property Section. Mr. Bloom also speaks French and Russian.
